With the DARINGPRINCE Foundation, one man’s vision is reshaping the lives of children who were once invisible to the world.
Every once in a while, a person rises not from privilege or power, but from purpose — to fight for those whose voices are drowned out by silence. Dr. Kamal H Muhamed is one such person. A writer, marketing strategist, humanitarian, and above all, a relentless believer in the power of childhood, Dr. Kamal has dedicated his life to children who were born into struggle — children robbed of opportunity before they even had a chance to dream.
He is the founder of the DARINGPRINCE Foundation (DPF) — a mission-driven organization working at the grassroots to shape bold, ethical, emotionally intelligent, and culturally rooted children from underprivileged communities.
In an exclusive conversation, we delve into Dr. Kamal’s life journey, his dreams for the children of tomorrow, and the ever-growing movement of DARINGPRINCE.
Q1: Dr. Kamal, take us back to the beginning. What was the moment that sparked the idea of the DARINGPRINCE Foundation?
Dr. Kamal H Muhamed:
It started with my father’s teachings. He believed that life’s true success lies in how much light you bring into others’ lives. Over the years, I saw many children growing up neglected — not because of their fault, but because no one was there to guide them. I witnessed the wasted brilliance, the untapped potential, and I asked myself: “What if someone had just shown them a different path?”
The DARINGPRINCE Foundation is my answer to that question. It’s not charity — it’s a promise to every child who has been forgotten by society.
Q2: “DARINGPRINCE” is a powerful name. What does it mean to you?
Dr. Kamal H Muhamed:
It is a name born from struggle, and shaped by hope. “DARING” speaks to the courage needed to rise above pain. “PRINCE” symbolizes dignity and potential, even in the most broken child. Together, it’s a declaration:
You are brave. You are noble. You are capable.
I want every child we support to feel like they matter — like royalty in their own right, regardless of their circumstances.
Q3: Why focus on children aged 5 to 15?
Dr. Kamal H Muhamed:
Because that’s when a child becomes who they are. It’s when the world tells them what’s possible — or not. Between 5 and 15, we can plant seeds of resilience, love, and discipline. Beyond that, it’s harder to undo the emotional damage. We intervene early, not just to teach them how to read or write — but how to believe, dream, and care.
Q4: What makes the DARINGPRINCE Foundation’s approach different from conventional education or welfare systems?
Dr. Kamal H Muhamed:
We don’t just build minds — we build hearts. Our intervention includes:
-
Awareness against Drug Abuse and Corruption
-
Training in Life Skills and Emotional Intelligence
-
Addressing Anti-Social Tendencies early on
-
Promoting Health & Hygiene
-
Responsible Digital & Mobile Usage
-
Cultural grounding, leadership training, and ethical development
We also teach independence — reducing overreliance on parents or guardians. Our children learn to stand tall, with or without a support system.
Q5: You’ve spoken often about integrating global values. Does the foundation align with the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)?
Dr. Kamal H Muhamed:
Absolutely. We align with SDGs like:
-
Goal 3: Good Health & Wellbeing
-
Goal 4: Quality Education
-
Goal 10: Reduced Inequalities
-
Goal 16: Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions
But beyond alignment, we translate these goals into daily actions. Every workshop, every mentorship session, every life saved from the streets — it’s all part of creating a sustainable, just, and emotionally intelligent generation.
Q6: What about technology addiction among children? It’s a growing concern.
Dr. Kamal H Muhamed:
Yes, technology can be a trap. Today’s children are raised by screens. While technology can be educational, it can also rob children of empathy, imagination, and real-world skills.
At DARINGPRINCE, we create awareness workshops, both for children and parents. We teach how to use tech without being used by it. We also promote outdoor learning, storytelling, creativity, and human connection.
Q7: You place strong emphasis on values like compassion and culture. How do you make that real for children?
Dr. Kamal H Muhamed:
Through experiences. Children don’t learn empathy from books — they learn it from doing.
We involve them in community clean-ups, storytelling circles, ethical dilemma games, role-play, and even care projects for younger children. They learn through emotion, participation, and reflection. That’s how we build leaders — not with lectures, but with life.
Q8: Your autobiography, “Daring Prince,” has received wide attention. What’s the story behind it?
Dr. Kamal H Muhamed:
It’s my story — but not just mine. It’s the story of every child who was told they wouldn’t make it, and did. It traces my own hardships, my growth, and the moments that pushed me to build something bigger than myself.
All book royalties go directly into the foundation. Currently available in English and Malayalam, it’s being translated into Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Arabic, French, and Amharic — because this message belongs to the world, not just one region.
Q9: You must have seen many transformations. Is there one story that stayed with you?
Dr. Kamal H Muhamed:
So many. But one boy, around 11 years old, was involved in theft, street fights, and skipping school. Today, after going through our programs, he’s the school monitor, leads peer mediation sessions, and helps other at-risk children.
He didn’t just change — he became the change for others. That’s the miracle we live for.
Q10: What role can individuals or organizations play in this mission?
Dr. Kamal H Muhamed:
You don’t need to be rich or powerful to help. Whether you’re a student, corporate leader, volunteer, teacher, artist, or social worker, you can contribute. We welcome:
-
Volunteers and mentors
-
CSR partners
-
Donors and supporters

Q11: You’ve recently been associated with the National Education Forum (NEF). Could you tell us more?
Dr. Kamal H Muhamed:
Yes, I’ve been appointed as the National Chief Co-ordinator (Network & Development of Projects) at NEF, an autonomous educational body under the Government of India. This is an opportunity to bring DARINGPRINCE’s field-level insights into broader policy discussions. It’s a step toward national-level change.
Q12: Finally, what is your message to the world today?
Dr. Kamal H Muhamed:
If you want a world without war, corruption, violence, or despair — start with the children.
Not by pressuring them with grades, but by raising them with values. Teach them love, courage, integrity. Let’s raise a generation that not only survives — but leads, serves, and uplifts. The world needs more Daring Princes and Princesses — and it starts with us.
Closing Note
The DARINGPRINCE Foundation is more than an organization — it’s a heartbeat, an awakening, and a soulful revolution in the way we raise children. Through Dr. Kamal H Muhamed’s vision, countless young lives are learning not just to dream — but to dare.
As new hands join this mission, the light spreads wider, brighter. And in every child lifted from despair, we see the world becoming what it was always meant to be — just, compassionate, and brave.
